A Moldovan company is preparing to conquer the U.S. and EU markets with its soy sauces and marinades August 18, 2011
Between August 18 and September 2, a Moldovan company will benefit from consultancy focused on food packaging development and design, provided by an expert from the U.S. The assistance will be provided voluntarily with the support of the Farmer-to-Farmer Program (FTF), implemented in our country by the USAID-funded organization CNFA.
TAI-NA Ltd has decided to develop a proper package and label design in order to access new markets, given the consumers from both the United States and European community have highly praised the taste of the "made in Moldova" soy sauces and marinades, during some recently organized tastings.
For this purpose, the Moldovan company will benefit from consultancy provided by Jim Valentine, processing, packaging and marketing expert from the U.S., selected on a contest basis within the FTF Program. During his stay in our country, Jim Valentine will train the company employees on modern trends of package and label designing, effective marketing campaigns’ planning and implementation, and basic brand development methods.
TAI-NA Ltd is currently producing four soy sauce brands (with ginger, lemon, garlic, and pepper), as well as several soy-based marinades. The product is packaged in glass jars and sold on the local market through several supermarket, restaurant, and cafe chains. The company has modern processing equipment, a reliable raw materials supplier, and highly-qualified staff.
TAI-NA Ltd has applied for U.S. consultancy from the FTF Program after studying the experience of other Moldovan companies which have already successfully implemented similar practices through the Program’s assistance.
The FtF consultancy is focused on dairy, fruit, and vegetable production and processing; it is provided to host organizations, as well as to farmers, cooperatives, and agribusinesses which apply for consultancy during the volunteers’ stay in Moldova.
CNFA is an organization for international development from USA, established in 1985, which is dedicated to increasing rural incomes by empowering farmers and rural entrepreneurs. CNFA activity is focused on agricultural development based on initiatives to facilitate market access, enhance agribusiness competitiveness, increase productivity, and improve access to inputs and finance for businesses. CNFA has a successful track record of performance in Africa, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Central Asia, and has managed over $200 million in donor-funded agriculture development programs over the past decade. In the Republic of Moldova, CNFA is currently implementing the five-year Farmer-to-Farmer Program, worth $2.5 million, and has recently concluded the $12 million-worth Agribusiness Development Program.
