Irrigation Management Transfer Specialist

An international development organization seeks expressions of interest from qualified local candidates for long-term technical positions for an upcoming multi-year project in Moldova.

Irrigation Management Transfer Specialist

We are seeking to find a specialist in Irrigation Management Transfer to help manage a large donor-funded development project in Moldova for five years. The Specialist will be responsible for providing technical expertise and guidance for training of water user organizations in the project’s irrigation schemes. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in designing and implementing training and capacity building programs in the agriculture sector and experience in association and cooperative development to include:
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in a mix of agriculture development and irrigation sector reform programs
  • Demonstrated project management skills including management of personnel, and preparation of work plans and project reports;
  • Minimum of 10 years "hands on" experience training farmer organizations and forming water users organizations and farm-based associations
  • University degree in agriculture, agricultural engineering, business administration or another related field;
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communications skills in both English and Romanian.
